BIM doesn’t design, nor does it replace the designer. It doesn’t generate architectural ideas or make aesthetic judgements. While it can make buildings work better, it cannot make them beautiful. BIMOLOGY showcases how BIM has made a difference on our projects.

BIM unifies the language of design, it is the collaborative power of information modeling. L&T Construction realised this power of BIM and have adopted and have been implementing the same on their projects. As suggested by Mr. R. Ganesan (Head - Corporate Centre), it was decided to recognise and celebrate the BIM implementation in L&T construction “BIM Excellence Award” an esteemed award that celebrates the innovation, coordination and excellence in the journey of digital engineering adoption.

BIM & GIS are two technologies with specific purposes and use, GIS has mapping features & geographical databases, while BIM is used for assets as an object based information model. The connecting technology is gaining credibility in complex and large-scale projects. This edition of BIMOLOGY showcases how this technology has been adopted in WET IC.

To adopt any new technology and processes, awareness and hands-on training will need to be provided. BIM academy has been thriving to enable professionals with best technology and processes in the field of BIM. In this issue we will see how a “One day Field BIM workshop” was conducted for WET IC professionals.

BIM is a learning curve, it doesn’t work straight out of the box.
